The Simple Things.

Well it's been awhile, but I'm finally linking up again with Jesslyn Amber to share "The Simple Things".  She is such a sweet girl going through a tough time in her life, so be sure to check out her blog and send some happy thoughts her way.

~Having a job~

~Knowing that we get to meet this baby girl soon~

~Waking up to the thump of my puppy's (ok ok, 10 year old black lab) tail on the bed~

~A wonderful, hard-working husband~

~Great family and friends who were so supportive and encouraging during 'the great job hunt'~

~A job that will give me some flexibility once Liza is here~

~Having my long-term sub plans just about done for maternity leave~

~Having my Master's Project and therefore my Master's DONE~

Air Conditioning in at least our bedroom. 

We’ve been experiencing the same heat wave as everyone else…except not too many peeps in Northern Michigan have a/c.  Thank goodness for the tiny unit in our bedroom that helps me sleep!

This little girl on the way.

We are getting more and more excited about little Liza.  In 2 months or less we’ll get to meet her.  We can’t wait.

Having an amazing husband.

He is so giving and loving.  I get a back massage almost every night (which is super-awesome considering I feel like I’m carrying a basketball around in my belly).

Puppy kisses.

Ok ok ok Whitney is like 11, but she still is a sweet black (and now gray) face to wake up to and to hang out with during the day while JW is at work.

Family.

We are so blessed to have family close by and to get to see JW’s family this weekend at a baby shower they are hosting for us.

Thursday's 'Simple Things'

I saw this idea for the first time last week -- it's from Jesslyn Amber's blog.  I like the idea of slowing down and picking out a few things for which I'm super appreciative.  

 Here are the simple things I'm appreciating today...

~The rain.  It's been rainy almost all week.  Though it's not always great for my spirits, it has made our garden look like a masterpiece and has helped our grass seed grow.  Not to mention, it makes me feel ok about sitting inside with a cold.

~Our Family.  We are blessed with such a wonderful family, most of whom live pretty close to us.  We are so thankful that we get to see them so often and that our lives have all become entangled.  It's truly amazing to watch the daily and weekly changes of our nephews.

~Baby Liza.  Sure this one is obvious, but we are so excited to be able to enjoy one of life's greatest miracles.  As we worked on her room today, both JW and I realized how anxious we are getting to meet this baby girl.

~Blogs.  I've become an avid reader of about 10 blogs and periodically check in on other ones.  For some reason, it just makes me happy :)

~My husband.  He is my other half.  Not to mention, he can build/create amazing things, he has all the love in the world for me, Whit, and our families, and he is so excited about our little bundle to come soon.  

~Home-grown, delicious food.  Growing up I never valued having grown something in your backyard (or city) and getting to enjoy it for dinner.  We are so excited for our garden and our CSA and all the homegrown nutrition they will supply us with this summer.
